As a stewards of the mysteries of God (1 Cor 4:1) we have been trusted with a secret that Father has kept hidden from creation until the coming of the Messiah. “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” (Col 1:27) Father has designed that the Spirit of Christ living within us would be the means by which His character and nature would be revealed to the world.
This can seem like a heavy task, but it is not our strength, wisdom or righteousness that accomplishes this. It is simply by yielding to the Holy Spirit that His nature is perfected in us. Francis Frangipane, a great pastor and author, tells the story of how he had been dealing with an issue of recurring sin in his life. In frustration he asked the Lord “How long will you put up with me?” Father answered him and said “Until I have perfected you.” So be committed to the process, because your Father is.
We all have the same job, we just do it different ways. Our job is to bring the goodness of God to a dying world. Whatever situations you find yourself in this week, ask the Lord to let you be His heart, His voice and His hands to at least one person who needs a touch from Him. Let’s be good stewards of the mystery that has been entrusted to us and make the most of it. The nature of Christ is ours to share with the world, so let’s trust Him to share His love with at least one person this week.
The worship and intercession service last night was nothing short of amazing. We had pastors from four area churches join us. John Cava was there from Ft. Mill as well as a pastor from Kannapolis and one from Davidson. We started at 7 and it was around 9:40 by the time we were done. Many people came forward and prayed for our area, for revival to begin with us and for God to restore holiness to His church. Two little boys, probably no older 7 & 9 came up and prayed and it was a powerful time. We’ll do it again on Sunday night August 16th at 7 pm at John’s church in Ft. Mill.
Please pray for some in our family who are struggling with illness but would rather remain anonymous. There are a few of our brothers and sisters who could also use our prayers for physical healing. And pray for Christine W. as she needs to remain on almost total bed rest for the remainder of her pregnancy.
Please keep our missionaries in mind as well. Pray for Chandy and Sarah Thomas as they prepare to return to the U.S. to prepare for another year in overseas ministry. They specifically need the financial support to bring the family home of the fall. If you feel led to give to them, you can do so at the link below: (Remember to put Chandy and Sarah Thomas in the note section).
Also pray for John and Joanne Cava as they are preparing for a trip to Asia in October. And for Phil Plowman as he ministers in Southeast Asia and Oceania. The Words of the Week are below for you to read and pray through and check out the sermon notes from yesterday. Have a great week.
